Best of the Best!! Face Lift by “Bangmod Technique” for the New You to Look Younger

Cosmetic surgery in Thailand at this time is becoming very popular, especially for age reduction surgery or Full Facelift. In the medical business, it is considered to be a surgery that can reduce the age the most and the surgery techniques have been continually developed by the surgeons.

Recently, Thai surgeons from Bangmod Aesthetic Center presented a new Face Lift technique that the medical team has studied, researched, and developed for more than 30 years to become “Bangmod Face Lift Technique”. The special technique lifts the face, reduces age by more, and provides a more natural look. The result is more permanent and longer under the concept of “Small Wound, Less Pain, Quick Healing, and Natural Look.”

Sample Case: A 69-year-old Australian man with white and sagging skin. After the Face Lift, the results were obviously good.

Q: Why having Fine Thread 10 times and the face is still sagging? Is a Face Lift better?
A: Several people came to consult the doctor for a younger face. Most of them had tried many methods. For example: Botox, Fine Thread, Filler, Thermage, and HIFU. Eventually, it was found that these methods cannot make the face look younger as they wished and the result is only temporary. Some people have done Fine Thread 10 times and the face is still sagging, which is normal!!

Those abovementioned treatments are called “non-invasive procedure.” To make it easier, it is a non-surgery method. The advantages are that it is easy, fast, no surgery wound, less recuperation, and it corrects the sagging slightly. However, the disadvantages are that it cannot correct a lot of the sagging and the result is not permanent. Therefore, these methods are suitable for young people with faces that don’t sag much. More importantly, we must understand that the result is not permanent. For example: After 1-2 years of Fine Thread, you have to do it again. After 6-8 months of Botox, you have to do it again, etc.

In comparison, a Face Lift is considered to be an “invasive procedure”. This means there will be surgery with a surgery wound, more bruising, longer recuperation, and surgery risks. It must be done by specialists only. However, there are many advantages as well. The surgery can correct a lot of the sagging and provide more change to the face. More importantly, the result is more permanent than other methods. Therefore, it is suitable for older people who have more sagging and those who want to see obvious changes and permanent results.

Hence, no matter which method, we should know the advantages and disadvantages so that we can make an appropriate selection. We should also understand the expected outcome.

Q: Doctor, what are the advantages of Face Lift by “Bangmod Technique”?
A: Face Lift by “Bangmod Technique” can be summarized as follows:
1. Uses a local anesthetic instead of inhaled anesthetic so that it will be safer, especially with older patients, which can reduce the risks of complication from inhaling an anesthetic.
2. Quickens the surgery time to about 2-3 hours, providing less bruises in the tissue and less recuperation and settling time.
3. Performed with Superficial Muscolo Aponeurotic System (SMAS) for more natural and permanent results.
4. Able to select to do only on the problem parts, which can be divided into 4 sections as follows:
4.1 Temporal Lift to correct drooping eyes and crow’s feet around the temples, tighten the upper face and lift the cheekbones.
4.2 Mid-Face Lift to lift the cheekbones and tighten the middle face.
4.3 SMASectomy+plication to reduce deep nasolabial folds and marionette lines, tighten the lower face, lift the jowl, and make V-shape.
4.4 Neck Lift to tighten the neck, reduce sagging and neck wattle to suit the face for younger look.

Q: What types of faces can provide good results in Full Facelift?
A: Many people are in doubt whether their face is suitable for a Face Lift. Why do some people not look different after a Face Lift but some people look ten years younger?

The faces that are suitable for Face Lift for a good result and to see a clear difference from before are:
1. Narrow Face
Since the distance from the surgery wound (which is at the side of the hair line) to the wrinkles in the middle of the face is short, the surgery is easy. Just a slight lift and the tightening will reach the middle of the face and can better reduce the wrinkles.

2. Fragile and Soft Skin
In the surgery, the skin layer can be pulled easier and better than those who have thick and hard skin. For example: those who have had Filler/several Fine Thread/Face Lift will have the membranes under the skin layer. The skin will become hard. The result of the Face Lift will not be as noticeable like those who have fragile and soft skin.

3. A lot of Sagging on Face
With more noticeable wrinkles (crow’s feet, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, neck wattle, etc.), the surgery will provide more noticeable difference than before.

4. White Skin
Because keloids are less common with white skin people than dark skin people, the surgery wound often looks beautiful and the surgery wound can be better hidden.

Q: What are the preparations before and after the “Face Lift”?
A: The preparations before and after the surgery are considered to be very important because they can provide more confidence and better results. Let’s learn about the interesting knowledge.

Preparations before the Surgery
1. Congenital Diseases
The prohibited diseases are those related to blood clotting, such as prolonged bleeding. For other diseases, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or thyroid, the surgery is allowed but they must be controlled to normal condition. Do not have the surgery while having illness or infection around the skin where the surgery will be done.

2. Medication
If taking aspirin or painkillers, such as Ibuprofen, Diclofenac, hormones, vitamin, collagen, or herbs, abstain for 1 week before the surgery. Medication for high blood pressure and diabetes can be taken as normal. Do not abstain from these medications. If taking anticoagulant drugs, such as warfarin, always consult the doctor who prescribed the medication.

3. Food
If the surgery uses a local anesthetic, there is no need to abstain from food and drink. You can have a normal diet in adequate amount. If the surgery involves an inhaled anesthetic or injected anesthetic, abstain from food and drink at least 6-8 hours before the surgery.

4. Self-Care and Others
Abstain from smoking at least 2 weeks before and after the facial cosmetic surgery. If possible, wash your hair on the night before the cosmetic surgery or in the morning. Do not wear make-up on the consultation date with doctor or the appointment date for the cosmetic surgery.

Self-Care after the Surgery
1. Surgery Wound Treatment
There will be small stitches at the surgery wound, which can be taken off in 5-7 days as appointed. If it is dissolvable threads, it will dissolve by itself, which takes about 1-2 months. Patients can clean their faces as normal but beware of letting the wound contact water since there is a risk of infection around the surgery wound. If it touches water, dab to dry the wound.
For wound treatment, use a cotton stick with saline to clean the wound and the nearby area to get rid of stains. Disinfect and moisturize the wound with ointment 2 times a day; morning-evening after taking a shower.

2. Swelling and Bruise
In the first 48 hours after the surgery, take a rest and have a cold compression by using ice or cold pack to press around the surgery wound as often as you need to reduce the swelling and bleeding. Place a thin cloth, such as handkerchief, on the wound first. There is no need to compress while sleeping.
After 48 hours, alternate between a warm compression and cold compression. Compress until 2 weeks after the surgery or depending on the swelling. The swelling and bruising often happen in the first 2-3 days after the surgery, which is normal. The swelling will reduce about 70-80% after 1 week and it will be completely gone after 1-2 months.

3. Activity
You can do daily activities as normal. Avoid hitting around the surgery area. Abstain from lifting heavy objects in the first 2-3 days. Light exercise, such as jogging or yoga, can be done within 1 week after the surgery. Abstain from heavy exercises for about 2 weeks.
You can eat normally. It is suggested to have a soft diet at first to prevent physical irritation. Avoid having preserved food, alcohol, and smoking since it affects wound healing.

4. Scar
At first, the wound will become small lines with some reddening. Later, it will reduce and become normal. At first, you may feel tightening and hardening since there is an adjustment of the tissue around the wound. This will become softened as time goes by. Avoid bright sunshine and irritation around the wound since it will disturb the healing process of the surgery wound.

All these are the preparations before the surgery and how to take care of yourself after the surgery. Do not forget to practice them.
